Metal Garden Beds, Inc. has been in business since 2012. We design, manufacture and sell modular metal raised garden beds for home gardeners and other growing applications.

Metal Garden Beds are available in many lengths, widths and configurations. In addition to traditional rectangular and square garden beds, we offer long growing rows and shaped garden beds designed to provide growing space while maintaining access to the plants.
WHAT ARE METAL GARDEN BEDS?
Metal Garden Beds are bottomless raised garden beds constructed from modular steel components. The beds are placed over the growing area, assembled into the desired configuration and filled with soil.
The modular construction allows the same basic component system to be used to create garden beds of different lengths, widths and shapes.
Metal Garden Beds include traditional rows and squares as well as long rows, U-shaped beds, L-shaped beds, T-shaped beds, cross-shaped beds, walk-in gardens and other configurations.
STANDARD HEIGHT AND SIZING
The standard height of Metal Garden Beds is 17 inches.
Lengths and widths vary by model. Our modular construction allows us to create short garden beds, long growing rows and larger shaped configurations using the same basic construction system.
Individual product pages provide the exact dimensions and soil capacity for each model.
MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION
Metal Garden Beds are constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel.
The steel grade listed for our current garden bed products is ASTM A653 CS-B.
Standard construction uses:
23-gauge steel sidewall panels
18-gauge steel corner brackets
Heavy-duty nuts and bolts
Internal structural supports where required
The upper edge of each sidewall panel is folded over to create a smooth safety edge.
Our long-row and shaped garden beds use a 3-rung internal support system. Three steel rungs span the width of each modular section and connect to heavy-duty mid-span brackets rather than directly to the sidewall panels. The mid-span brackets join the adjoining sidewall panels while the three rungs tie the opposing sides of the bed together, creating an integrated internal support structure.
This support system is especially important in long garden beds, where the weight of the soil creates substantial outward pressure along the sidewalls. Rather than relying on the sidewall panels alone to resist that pressure, the mid-span brackets and three steel rungs work together to reinforce each section and help the garden bed maintain its shape and structural integrity after it is filled with soil.
The construction system is designed around the conditions that exist after a garden bed is filled with soil. Soil places substantial outward pressure on the sidewalls of a raised garden bed, particularly as the bed becomes longer.
ORIGINAL, RUSTIC AND SAGE SERIES
Metal Garden Beds are available in three primary finishes.
Original Series
The Original Series has the classic galvanized steel finish.
Rustic Series
The Rustic Series uses a brown, earthy powder-coated finish over the galvanized steel components.
Sage Series
The Sage Series uses a sage-colored powder-coated finish over the galvanized steel components.
The Original, Rustic and Sage Series use the same basic modular garden bed concept and assembly method.
TEXAS COMPANY
Metal Garden Beds, Inc. is a Texas company. We have operated from our warehouse in Driftwood, Texas since 2012, where we inventory our garden bed components and fulfill orders for customers across the United States.
Our products are sold directly to customers through MetalGardenBeds.com. From our Texas operation, we provide customer support, Garden Plan design services, order fulfillment and product support.
MANUFACTURING AND COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
Our material components are manufactured in China to our specifications by a manufacturing partner we have worked with since we started Metal Garden Beds in 2012.
We have researched domestic manufacturing extensively over the years. While we can source steel in the United States, we have not been able to find a domestic shop capable of punching the corrugated steel components required for our garden bed system at the quantities we need. Despite extensive efforts, the domestic options we have found have essentially involved custom fabrication of individual beds, made one at a time, rather than the large production runs our business requires.
We have also manufactured production runs of our garden beds in Mexico, so we know the manufacturing capability exists there. However, at current production costs, a garden bed manufactured in Mexico would need to retail for roughly three times the price of the same bed we manufacture today. At that price, we do not believe the product would be affordable for most gardeners.
MODULAR DESIGN
Metal Garden Beds use a modular construction system.
Individual sidewall panels, corners, support components and hardware are connected to create the finished garden bed. This allows the system to be used for many different lengths and configurations.
The same basic assembly method is used across our Original, Rustic and Sage Series.
Because of the modular construction, Metal Garden Beds can be configured into long growing rows and larger shaped gardens in addition to conventional rectangular and square raised beds.
ASSEMBLY
Metal Garden Beds are designed for customer assembly.
The same basic installation method is used across the Original, Rustic and Sage Series. Individual models may have different numbers of sections or different configurations, but the basic assembly method remains the same.
Hardware is included with the garden bed.
Customers receive information showing the specific section layout for the model they ordered.
During assembly, sidewall panels are positioned with the folded safety edge at the top. The panels fit into the steel corner brackets, and the components are connected using the supplied hardware.
Detailed assembly instructions are shipped with each order and are available on the Metal Garden Beds website.
GARDEN PLAN SERVICE
Metal Garden Beds offers a free personalized Garden Plan service.
Customers provide information about the dimensions and layout of the space where they would like to create a garden. We then create a plan showing how specific Metal Garden Beds models can fit within that space.
The Garden Plan identifies a potential garden layout and shows the customer which models are used in the design.
The service is intended to help gardeners make effective use of their available growing space and understand how different garden bed sizes and configurations can work together before ordering.
There is no charge for a Garden Plan and no obligation to purchase.
GALVANIZED STEEL AND LONGEVITY
Galvanized steel is used because of its ability to resist corrosion in outdoor environments.
There is no single lifespan that applies to every galvanized garden bed. The way galvanized steel ages depends on environmental conditions and other factors.
Metal Garden Beds has used galvanized steel construction since the company began selling its garden beds in 2012.
The purpose of the galvanized coating is to protect the underlying steel from corrosion. The condition and lifespan of the coating can be affected by environmental exposure, moisture, soil conditions and other factors.
POWDER-COATED COMPONENTS
The Rustic and Sage Series use powder-coated finishes applied on top of the galvanized steel.
SHIPPING AND FULFILLMENT
Our standard free shipping covers UPS addresses within the lower 48 United States.
Orders are shipped flatpacked in cartons containing the components required to assemble the garden bed.
Shipping arrangements for Alaska and Hawaii differ from standard lower-48 shipping. We can ship orders to Alaska Marine Lines in Seattle, Washington, where customers can arrange onward transportation.
Canadian customers may use a cross-border logistics provider for delivery into Canada.
RETURNS
Unused items may be returned within 30 days of delivery.
Customers are responsible for return shipping and should use a carrier that provides tracking.
Once the returned item is received, Metal Garden Beds refunds the full purchase price.
Customers should request a return authorization before returning an item and should return the product in its original packaging.
If Metal Garden Beds ships the wrong product, omits a component or otherwise makes a fulfillment error, we correct the error at our expense.

DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS
Customers should inspect components before installation.
If a component has a manufacturing or workmanship defect, customers should contact Metal Garden Beds within 30 days of delivery and before installation.
Because the products consist of heavy steel components transported by ground carrier, panel corners can occasionally bend during shipping. They fit inside the steel corner brackets and are not visible after installation. Minor bending in concealed areas is not considered product damage when it does not affect assembly or the finished garden bed.
If Metal Garden Beds makes a fulfillment mistake, such as shipping the wrong product or omitting a component, we make the correction at our expense.
