Long Rows for a Long Garden

This 60' × 25' Garden Plan takes advantage of the natural proportions of a long rectangular space. Rather than breaking the garden into many smaller raised beds, the layout uses six long growing rows with wide, open areas between them.

Three beds run horizontally across the left side of the garden, while three more run lengthwise on the right. Changing the direction of the rows creates two distinct growing areas within the same garden and makes the large space feel organized without adding unnecessary complexity.

The long beds provide extensive uninterrupted planting space, making them especially useful for gardeners who want to grow larger quantities of vegetables or organize different crops into dedicated rows.

Generous spacing around the beds provides access from both sides and leaves plenty of room for carts, harvesting and everyday garden work. Even with substantial growing capacity, much of the 60' × 25' area remains open for comfortable movement.

Shown on a 1-ft grid, this plan demonstrates one of the advantages of a modular raised bed system: long spaces can be used for genuinely long growing rows rather than being divided into a collection of small individual beds.
