A Large Raised Garden Layout Built Around Long Growing Rows

This 36' × 28' garden plan combines long raised garden beds and another running around the perimeter of the garden. The result is a large amount of growing space while still keeping the center of the garden open, organized and easy to move through.

Six long raised beds are arranged in three rows through the center of the garden. Wide walkways between the beds provide comfortable access from both sides and leave plenty of room for moving soil, compost, garden carts and other equipment through the space.

The perimeter bed makes use of an area that is often left unused in a traditional raised bed garden. Rather than placing individual beds around the outside, the layout creates a long continuous growing area along the edges while maintaining an open entrance into the garden.

The entire Garden Plan is shown on a 1-ft grid, making it easy to see the bed placement, walkway spacing and overall scale of the garden before construction begins.

This is a good example of how a larger garden does not necessarily need dozens of individual raised beds. Using longer modular beds can create substantial growing space while keeping the overall layout simple and accessible.
