Making a Smaller Garden Feel Open
This 29' × 18' Garden Plan uses one large shaped bed across the back of the garden with two smaller raised beds positioned toward the front. The arrangement provides substantial growing space without filling the entire garden with individual beds.
The large bed follows the back of the space and turns inward at three points, creating separate growing sections within one connected raised bed. The open areas between these sections provide comfortable access to the inside edges of the bed.
Two smaller raised beds add growing space toward the front while leaving a broad central walkway open. This gives the gardener plenty of room to move between the different planting areas and keeps the layout from feeling crowded.
For a garden of this size, the combination of one large connected bed and two smaller beds creates a simple layout with a surprising amount of usable growing area.
The Garden Plan is shown on a 1-ft grid, making it easy to see the bed dimensions, spacing and open areas throughout the garden.
